At the age of six, Matteo Ivan Rašić joined the Wiltener Sängerknaben, where he received his first singing lessons. As a boy soprano, he performed as a soloist in numerous concerts and at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, e.g. in the opera »The Cunning Little Vixen«, and interpreted songs and arias from »Der Vogelhändler« and »La traviata« on tours in China with the Wiltener Sängerknaben.
Since 2018, the tenor has been studying singing at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and, since 2019, instrumental and vocal pedagogy with Johannes Stecher at the Mozarteum Salzburg. He also attended master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Karlheinz Hanser, Thomas Hampson and, as a scholarship holder of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, trained with Vesselina Kasarova, Linda Watson, Robert Holl and Stephan Matthias Lademann, at the Eva Lind Music Academy. In 2022, Matteo Ivan Rašić won the »Opera for Peace Prize« of the Stanisław Moniuszko Competition and the »Tyrolean Classical Singers’ Prize« under the patronage of Jakub Jozef Orliński.
Engagements to date have included the Operettensommer Kufstein and the Croatian Opera Academy, followed by participation in the International Opera Workshop Waiblingen. As part of his training, he impersonated Ecclitico in Haydn’s »Il mondo della luna« at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. His oratorio repertoire includes Bach’s »Christmas Oratorio« and »St. Matthew Passion«, Handel’s »Messiah«, Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s »95th Psalm« and Haydn’s »The Seasons« and »The Creation«.
